Appointment Information

Can another healthcare professional help?

Sometimes the GP is not the most appropriate Healthcare Professional to deal with your ailment. Please refer to our ‘Who should I see’ section on the range of services offered.

We offer a variety of appointments with Nurse Practitioner, Nurses, Physiotherapy Specialist Assessors (First Contact Practitioners), Dementia Advisor, Mental Health Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists. These can be booked by calling reception on 0208 958 4233. Some help can be received from ‘self referrals’. Please refer to the ‘Who should I see’ section.

As there is a great demand for doctor appointments, these can be booked in several ways:

  • Please consider using the NHS App.
  • Face to face and telephone appointments are released daily at 8am, 2pm and 6:30pm.
  • Reception bookable appointments open at 8:30am and 2pm daily also.

Please consider the most appropriate form of appointment with the doctor – please do not book a telephone appointment if you feel you need an examination, we understand this is not always known but we prefer for patients not to book telephone appointments simply to ask for a face to face appointment. This generates increased demand and less availability for other patients.

Additional Information

Home Visits

If you need a home visit, please try to call early before 10am. A doctor will phone you back to gather more information which may be dealt with over the phone or referral to a different service. Children with temperatures with rashes are best seen at the surgery but please do ring first.

Home visits are only available to patients who are housebound because of illness or disability

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time it takes to make home visit. The surgery has better facilities and support for assessment and treating patients.

Delays

Sometimes patients problems can take longer to address than the usual 10 minute appointment. The clinician can be delayed also due to emergencies. We make every effort to keep you informed of these delays but do appreciate your understanding and patience.

Late Arrival

Please ensure you arrive on time and check in at reception using the wall machine or informing reception. If you are late for an appointment, the reception will ask you the reason ad let the doctor know. You may still be seen, asked to wait until the end of the surgery or re-book your appointment at the request of the doctor.

It’s important to be involved in decisions about your treatment and to be given information to help you choose the right treatment. When making treatment choices, you’ll often discuss the options with your doctor or another healthcare professional.
